GPFS News: Upcoming GPFS Events:

High school, college and graduate students are invited to apply to play for Julien Beaudiment
in the Sara Lasky Memorial Fund Master Class on April 14th. This year entries are
competitive: there are 6 spots available for students in an age range of high school through to
graduate students. To enter you must fill out the online form at
https://goo.gl/forms/hPiVMwa8evaAtbvx2, AND email your biography and resumé to Sandy
Duffy Norman at sandyduffynorman@comcast.net. Students are also encouraged (but not
required) to include an audio or video that is representative of their playing. Hurry,
students will be notified soon after. This masterclass is FREE for successful participants
thanks to the Sara Lasky memorial scholarship fund but you must be a GPFS member.
Please sign up at http://gpfs.org/membership.html. On the day, Flute Fair is FREE for
members, and $5 for nonmembers 

Announcing the 2018 Flute Fair Young Artist Competitions!
The Greater Portland Flute Society Board of Directors is proud to announce its fourth annual
Young Artist Competition, Junior and Senior Divisions, to be held at the 2018 Flute Fair on
April 14th at Aloha High School. We invite 6th–8th grade flutists to compete in the Junior
Division, and 9th–12th graders to compete in the Senior Division.
The Junior Division winner will receive a $150 cash prize, and the Senior Division winner will
receive $300. Look out for second place prizes! The link to the application form is here.
