GPFS Study Grant

 

 

The Greater Portland Flute Society is offering three lucky students a chance to receive a $300 study grant during this school year. This grant will be given to an enthusiastic student wishing to study with a GPFS teacher. We will base our selection on financial need, playing ability, and enthusiasm. 

 

To qualify the student must:

·        Be a current student in high school or middle school

·        Have played for at least one year with a school group or private flute instructor

·        Be willing to study with a flute teacher on the GPFS teacher roster.

·        Student Study Grant Application

·        Parent financial need statement

·        Brief hand written teacher recommendation which includes a statement about your performance ability

 

Your entry will be judged by three GPFS board members. You will be notified of our selection by February 15th. As a result of receiving a GPFS study grant, the award recipients will receive a one-year complimentary student membership that will allow them admission discounts to all GPFS sponsored events during the current year. The grant itself will be sent to the GPFS teacher of the student’s choice and the student will be notified by mail.
